Letter Before Action for an Event Cancellation Refund
By ClaimKit UK Editorial Team ยท Updated
When an event is cancelled, you are usually entitled to a refund unless a specific term applies. A pre-action letter sets out the booking, the cancellation, and the refund you are owed.
Confirm the booking
State the event name, date, ticket price, and booking reference. Include the date you were notified of the cancellation.
Explain the refund request
Specify the amount you are owed and any previous refund requests you made. If the organiser offered credit instead, note that you are requesting a refund.
Set a deadline
Give a clear deadline for repayment. If there is no response, you can proceed to small claims with the booking evidence.
